VISCONTI D'ESSAI - LIGHT TURQUOISE LIMITED EDITION - RARE

In 1991 Visconti was able to acquire a stock of vintage celluloid from the Vecchietti shop in Bologna. This celluloid which had been part of the Nettuno stock ( the Vecchietti family had created the Nettuno brand in 1913) had remained in the family's warehouse for decades,.
The stock comprised bars of various colors and Visconti decided to use them to create a special limited edition using their Classic model, which had been designed to be the perfect synthesis of innovation and tradition.
The Classic had a simple line, following the flat top style of the 1920’s, with ball-ended clips and black ends.
The new limited edition was named D’Essai and it was manufactured in a wide range of colors ( I have been able to classify 17 of them so far). Each color was offered as a limited edition on its own and all the pens were numbered. For some colors there was only a limited quantity of material and these are extremely rare nowadays.
This Visconti D'essai in light turquoise celluloid is nr. 114. As fa as I know, there were no more than 500 pens in this color.
The nib is 14 ct gold and the pen is a piston filler.
It is unused and very beautiful.
