MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK 149 OLD STYLE - 14K NIB - EBONITE FEEDER

The 149 is an iconic model for many pen lovers as it entails a long story of tradition and innovation with a strong evocative power.

Modern 149s owe their success to the original celluloid model of the 1950s which was offered  by Montblanc as top of the range. Although part of the 14X line, which was offered in green and in gray striped celluloid, too,  the 149 was manufactured only in black, thus confirming its role of timeless flagship model.

In the course of time the model underwent a number of transformations, including the evolution of the feeder, the passage from 18C/14C nibs to 14K and 18K, the introduction of a brass mechanism which replaced the original black threads, the change of design of the clip and its inscriptions.

This Montblanc 149 dates back to the late 1980s. It has a 14K nib, and ebonite split feeder, black threads  and  the inscription  Germany on the cap ring. It is a pleasant everyday writer with a steady flow of ink and an F tip.
