OMAS EXTRA 556 POST- WAR PRODUCTION- STUBBISH NIB

Immediately after WWII, Omas revised its lines of pens and introduced the piston filling mechanism which promised to be easier to use than its traditional reverse plunger which had been used for the Lucens and the Extra Lucens series for approximately 30 years..
The new line of piston fillers was called Extra and was identified by a model number which was 555 ( lady size), 556 ( senior size), 557 ( oversize).
Pens were manufactured in celluloid in a wide range of colors, among which gray pearl, cappuccino, arco gray, arco brown and obviously black.
The new pens were robust and reliable daily writers which retained Omas' traditional design with the classic Omas shape and the roller clip. They were fitted with superb 14 ct Omas Extra nibs, which are nowadays amongst the best performing nibs ever.
This Omas Extra piston filler in black celluloid is a 556 in excellent condition with a superb very flexible Omas Extra 14 ct nib which has a stubbish feeling. The nib can offer a very generous line on the upward/downward strokes and a finer line on the lateral movements.
