The choice of laminated celluloid drew  inspiration from the famous Parker Vacumatic model the early 1930s; and like the shiny material of the Vacumatic, the Manhattan laminated celluloids meant to recall the sparkling lights of the "city that does not sleep".

The filling mechanism is the innovative double reservoir power vacuum system, patented by Visconti, which guarantees great ink capacity.
