YARD O' LED REGENT HEXAGONAL BARLEY BALLPOINT
In 1934, German-born Ludwig Brenner registered a patent for a propelling pencil with a unique capacity to hold 12 three-inch leads, which equaled 36 inches, or a "Yard" of lead. The company was named after this "length of the leads" and started manufacturing sterling silver propelling pencils with wire totally hand decorated. High quality standards were the rule for all Yard O' Led products which soon became synonymous of high quality and traditional British style and craftsmanship.
In the post war years, the company established its workshop in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter where it still resides. Parts of the production processes of modern Yard O' Led writing instruments are still carried out using 19th-century machinery to create precious hand-hammered, engine-turned designs.
This Yard O' Led Regent Hexagonal Barley ballpoint is a very fascinating example of the Company's style and traditional elegance. The ballpoint is in perfect condition and it is offered with its original presentation box.
