OMAS 360 SPECIAL EDITION - CAMERA DEI DEPUTATI

Ever since its early years, Omas manufactured special editions to celebrate special events or institutions. Special editions could be also commssioned by companies or associations to have their own celebrative pen.
In most cases these editions were not numbered and thus not "limited" and were manufactured using standard Omas models with some variations of the finish, or a special color.
The scenario of Omas special editions is very wide and they are very hard to catalogue. We go form the Artaxan and Quinazide ogivas, manufactured in the 1990s for the Glaxo pharmaceutical company, to a number of other productions for Ferrari, Profutura, Bittner and a few other pen shops all over the world, just to mention a few examples.
In 2005 Omas was commissioned the production of a special edition for the Italian Chamber of Deputies, which is the lower house of the bicameral Italian Parliament.
These pens were meant to be used as gifts for special occasions, ceremonies and the like. The model which was chosen was the iconic 360 in jet black.
Some 150 pens were manufactured.
The pens were customized with the Chamber of Deputies' logo on the cap and on the nib and the words "Camera dei Deputati " engraved on the cap.On the turning knob the Camber of Deputies' Foundation's logo was added.
Before the definitive design was approved, a prototype was manufactured. This pen had a single tone logo on the nib and a larger engraving on the cap which was not considered satisfactory enough. So the font of the engraving was changed and the nib was made into a two-tone one.
I have both the prototype ( single tone nib, larger engraving on the cap) and one of the 150 pens which were manufactured available for sale. There is only one box (which is flaking off and has been covered with removable cling film). The two pens can be had separately or together.
Nib grades are M for the prototype and F for the special edition.
Price is 670 for each pen, or 1240 for the two of them.
