The Waterman 52 is undoubtedly one of the most successfull models ever. Its simple and elegant line, as well as its well balanced size, make it the perfect writer for every hand.

In Waterman's tradition there's always been a careful attention to different writing needs. So the 52 is probably one of Waterman's models whose "declinations" are more common on the collecting market. The model can be found in the "V" version (shorter), the "1/2" version (thinner) or the "1/2 V" version, which is thinner and shorter.

The most fascinating interpretations of this model can be found on the Italian scenario, where the tradition of precious and semi precious overlays found its most fertile ground.

This Waterman 52V shows a very refined and unusual floral hand etched overlay. The design of the overlay with it semi-conic ends,  dates it to the late 1930s /early 1940s.

The pen is in excellent condition and is fitted with a very flexible nib.

NOTE: in the writing sample you find 52 1/2 but it is a mistake I made while writing. The model is a 52 V.
