WATERMAN 92 BRAZILIAN GREEN - FLEXIBLE NIB

In the mid 1920s all pen makers started looking for new materials to replace ebonite in order to add color to their pens. The first colourful pens had been manufactured by Parker and Sheaffer before 1925 using first red ebonite and then the new colourful material which was called Permanite, actually celluloid. In a very short time, ebanite was abandoned and all the major pen companies offered colourful celluloid pens in various models and sizes.

When Waterman abandoned ebonite (which happened very late in comparison to other US pen companies), all their lines of pens started being manufactured in celluloid. The model 92 was designed to replace the successful model 52 and it was manufactured in wide range of beautiful colors. The 92 is a slender and very light lever  filler which is suitable for a  feminine hand as well as a small male hand. This 92 in Brazilian green celluloid is a beautiful example of this line of everyday writers. It is fitted with beautiful Waterman nr. 2 nib which is very flexible and pleasant to use.
